Description
In this scene I am using actual images of my family. They are the oldest formally photographed portraits we have. My grandfather, who was born in 1893, is the little boy in the white collar on the far left. This is a repost from 2000, but it is one of my favorites, though not so technically difficult.

Nice job. I've spent a lot of time in Photoshop restoring my old family photos.

This is a great idea, and you've mastered texturing 101. The antique furniture is very nice. Your choice of colors as always is interesting. I was mesmerized by the ceiling. I have a couple of observations; the walls remind me more of art deco, which was from that time period and does add some interest to the image, and there's a problem with the table lamps. The light dosen't fan out from the bottom enough to match the angle of the lampshades (I hope I explained that understandably), and there's no light coming from the smaller holes at the tops of the lampshades. I know... I'm picky. But I really like this image.

Aye, texture-wise, I think it's nice, although the rug looks very flat. I think the pictures are a bit too large, they really dominate the scene and it seems a bit unrealistic? I love them, though! I'd like to see you using different lighting as well, Cadavatar was dead-on about the lamps. You should try turning the lights to "Squared Falloff". This will produce a much more realistic lighting scenario, although you'll have to turn up their brightness a bit to compensate... Good work, though!
