Description

Thought I'd put up one of my Bryce images here for a change from my usual fractal stuff ;) I've worked quite a lot on this one, including leaving it rendering while I was on holiday last week (ain't that what holidays are for? ;). It's probably still nowhere near finished but I'm done with it all the same. In 1986 I visited the National Garden Festival in Stoke on Trent. There I saw the lion statues that these lions were based upon. I can't remember now whether the piece was really called 'The Truant Lion' or if that was the nickname that my Mum and I gave it. There is a touch of 'Griffin's castle' by Jenny Nimmo in there too, just on the offchance anyone has read that book. Meski's tree with Xfrog maple leaves. The rest are Bryce trees and my own mats. Pedastals for lions are from RG's Shapemagic freebies. The shrub hedges are C4D meshes. Leaves are my own made in photoshop from assorted leaf photos. Path texture is also a photograph from a park near my home. Kathy

What a terrific theme and title for this work... This is one of those rare images that inspires wonder and invokes self-storytelling by the viewer. The emotion in the character poses are marvelous. Great work!

Aye, it's an interesting and well-worked piece! For some reason, the darkness of the right-hand hedge bugs me, it throws off the contrast a bit? Still, there's a lot of little details such as the leaves and your hedge material. Good stuff.
