Description

I guess this wouldn't readily be recognized as something of mine, but then I like to play with different ways of working from time to time, it stops things stagnating! Created tonight from scratch in Painter 8. Inspired by the late Zdzislaw Beksi

At first glance it looks simple, but knowing your work the way I do I figured that there was no way in hell it was simple. I was right... as usual there is plenty of depth to this one. Plenty of little details for me to absorb and think about. I really like this Jim and I also plan on checking out the link that you provided (which you provided me a long time ago, but I neglected). Later bro... keep em coming.

Looks more like abstraction than surrealism to me, but I like it whatever the label. Nice warm tones, subtle textures & well-balanced composition. Hadn't heard that Beksinski had died - sorry to hear that. Not my all time favorite, but definitely a very creative & skillful artist that I admired a lot.

I love this one! It makes me think of an African mask for some reason! Very creative and stylish!! Thx for the link too my dear Jim, gonna check this out! ;)

Great tribute my friend huge hugs Like Pascale, I'm reminded of an African mask, maybe its the warm colours adding to this perception. Thank you so much for creating and sharing hugs

Africa - yes! The hot sun shining on the figure who's struggling in a sand storm in Sahara :-) Great feeling of movement, and inner fight; with so wonderful colours. And such a splendid tribute to Beksinski - one of my favourites too. :-)

Yes, it makes me think of a mask too, but first I saw a wooden sculpture of a sitting person. Whatever, I like it very much, the warm colors, the flowing texture give me a feeling of inner peace in a turbuent world. Good to enjoy first thing in the morning. Hugs!!

I see a figure rather than a mask & one with a haunting quality that to me is very reminiscent of Beksinski, the warm colour adds a touch of ambiguity that, along with the beautiful abstract style is purely yours! Lovely image Jim ; )
