I made the background in bryce and the dolphin was made in DAZ|Studio.

Nice simple image. Good angle. Slightly empty. I'd suggest some terrain. Maybe some rocky islands in the background to create more depth and some rocks in the foreground. Soften the shadows a bit to make them more realistic. This image has a good start.
