Description

I once owned a red 1962 VW, which didn't look all that different from this 1955 version, except that you could roll the roof back. My wife and I called it our "Covered Wagon" (with the W pronounced as if a "V.") The Beetle was the first small econo car to gain popularity in postwar America. Even farmers out in the Kansas boonies had them. They didn't have a gas gauge, though. Instead, there was a little reserve tank that you could open by turning a lever and that got you about 50 or more extra miles. The lever on mine was stuck, so I always had to get the tank "topped off" or risk what has happened to Nate, here--out in the boonies, stranded on one of those "Blue Highways," with no gas to go. Don't worry for Nate. Eventually, someone will come along and give him a ride to a gas station. They might even bring him back; or, if they couldn't someone else probably would. Meanwhile, as he waits, the flies and gnats are starting to bite. And, yes, I've been there and done that. ********************** Credits: "Econo Car" by Donald Sielke (DAZ); DAZ David figure; Conforming pants also from DAZ. Hair is "Wedge Cut HR" for David; Face morph and body textures are "Nate" from Jepe's "Movie Men." Windmill is a Net freebie; "Long Grass" and "Grass Patch" by Eric Smit; "Shaeffor Daisies," "Goldilocks," and "Emperor's Crown" by varian; road by me. Thanks for looking and for any constructive comments. Regards, Jeremy

Superb work - well lit and wonderful veg. You may want to texture his pants or add some cloth folds in for a bit more realism. But this is really fantastic - VOTE!!

Your image could be really enhanced by using the focus of the camera to create a depth of field. Anyway, this is a nice picture.

Fine plantlife in the front, as in the last of your pics. You have improved a lot on the details doing those

Constructive comment : Why not put a shirt on the guy ? I know, the weather is so hot, but it would protect him a little against insect bites ! :)) Seriously I like the image, the pov is to the point and gives well the 'stranded' feel. (The only little thing would be the very regular line on the road ) Very nice work !
