Description

Photography by Richard-Fuji s7000 name/border-PSP I took this 4-19-2005. I do not know for sure whether this is an iris or orchid. Marion has said Iris. I took foto from an arrangement of orchid flowers of a lady that is famous for her orchids and I "assumed" it was an orchid. I am not a horticulture expert, only photograph what I think is beautiful. I looked on the net and I saw an iris that looks very similar to this thanks so much for your visits and if you have time for a comment even better

Richard orchids have long been used in love spells, especially the root, which is carried in a sachet. The orchid is currentlt one of the commoner floral symbols of love in the West, and when given, clearly conveys its messege. Some types of orchids are used in creating visions, trance-states, and inducing psychic powers. Once again friend you show your talent with the camera...Excellent!!!...:)

Richard, QuietRiot and Marion are correct! It is definately an Iris! Used to grow them by the hundreds! The Cattleya orchid is very similar in shape to an Iris though. Lots of varieties of orchids as well. This is a wonderful picture! Leanndra
