Description

On a visit to a waterpowered sythe and edge tool works last year the over-flow weir in the mill pond caught my eye, I think it was the 'oldness' that it seemed to radiate.
I don't know if you can use words (if it is a real word) like 'oldness' but the whole mood by this little weir felt 'old', rather than 'aged' 8-)

How about vintage, decrepit, ancient, antique, mature, relic, worn... Oldness, I'm gonna write Chambers about that one :) There were a lot of these connected to small dams that once belong to the first Cultlers in Sheffied. This would be the out flow as you say to regulate the height of the dams. Fascinating stuff and thanks for the memories as I tend to forget such things. Excellent!!!
