Description
Making a dash to the cosmos from the thick mists of Shangri La to escape their pursuers.
Probably my most hardware demanding render to date. Slav fairly commented that on my Dark & Long post, the Millenium Falcon could do with some more detail/textures which was fair enough as that model was just a 2MB .3ds model (I think it is an excellent model for its filesize). Anyway, after some digging, I found 24MB lightwave 7 or 8 model which would not load into Mojo, so used a free 3rd party program to convert it to an .obj file which is supported by Mojo and was the only format that would convert without any loss in detail, giving me a 64MB object file.
RTR was dead slow and when preprocessing it easily used my entire 1 GB of memory, redo-block was 7 hours.
Built on infidels Shangri La with some minor tweaks
Millenium Falcon: Andy Crook
Tie-Fighter: James R. Bassett

An Amaazingly constructed image. The POV is strong & dramatic with a sense of sction. The choice of planet & objects works really well together. As I always have to add something...perhqps a couple of strategically placed gun turrets on the plateaus may have addde to the effect, but is of little consequence. The MF model is outstanding. Did you use Accutrans for the conversion ? How long to render? Look forward to a 3rd MF rendered image:)

@ woz, yes Accutrans to convert (which was quite a demanding process on hardware) Overall render time was around 15 hours I think, I was just a bit suprised that redo blocks took so long! =)
