Description
Questing can be hard on an adventurer, and even worse on an adventurer's equipment!
Ive waited a long time for all the items for this character. It was ernyoka1's chainmail coif and Mordikar's Flamberge that provided the final pieces.
The character as well as this render are inspired by John Boorman's 1981 film Excalibur. I wanted to present the image of a Knight who had been on Quest under most adverse conditions for a long time, as in the scenes of the end of the Grail Quest, where the rigors of a thick, deep, and decidedly magical forest had taken their toll after more than a year....

Rendered in PPP with default Poser lighting. Material Options tweaks applied to the rain to darken and blend it in a bit. Preparation work of rusted metal texture map for Flamberge done in Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 by copying portions of the rusted armor texture maps onto a blank text map generated with UVMapper Pro. Postwork of sixteen concentric ring water ripples created with Redfield's free Water Ripples APS plugin, and signature, done in APS 6.0.1

Very painful, rusty, wet-to-the-bone, aching in every joint, and tired beyond words or memory... IOW... right on! The subtle details and depth are very good.

That is a strong pose and a great flamberge. The guys who used them were paid double in the mercenary armies.

wonderfully composed scene and I do love the sense of flat out fatigued struggle you achieved!

You created a fantastic atmosphere in this picture. The thin fog, the rain, his pose and expression --all combined perfectly, setting the right mood. The armor & textures are very good, too!
