My name is Richard O Keates, husband of AnnaKirsten who introduced me to this site.
My main interest is in photography.BIOWell, I'm 64 years of age and feel as though life has only just begun, having "retired" just a year early through redundancy after working for the same firm for 48 years. How silly of me!
A keen photographer for as far back as I can remember, I and a small group of others, was a founder member of a local photographic group known as Coloursound 70, in which we put many slide shows together and via means of the very first automatic duofade known at that time, (I made it) we presented shows of Hardy's Dorset to tourists. This gradually widened to include shows of slides taken in other countries and in Ireland and Scotland. In later years, the duofade device became developed into a computerised three projector system by various companies including Kodak. We had a lot of fun in those days, and also enjoyed the country walks in all weathers, just to get "that shot"!
I have always been a Minolta fan, and these days I use a Minolta Dimage 7i digital camera, and recently acquired a very valuable addition in the form of a Konica Minolta telephotoconverter ACT-100 1.5x lens. Next I am looking to upgrade the camera!
I just enjoy pure photography, whilst my wife rather enjoys using photographs to "do other things with"!!! I have equal regard for her artwork though! (Well I have to say that, don't I!) Richard.

I love the clarity in the foreground. Except for the clouds giveaway, one would never know it was not a calm day. Great shot!

the best is that sensation of depth, driving to the emptyness

This image is like a still from a movie or one of BBC and PBS Masterpiece Theater dramas. I figure to someone with a gift for words could write a story based on this image. Have a great week.

Excellent view, nice to capture it at low tide so you can see all those shale ridges, particularly with the sky reflections in between them, well done.

Being out there, making wonderful shots of this interesting landscape and then returning to the warm rooms enjoying a good cup of coffee or so, that is a joy! That layer breaking down in parts, is that a natural layer? The debris look so perfectly shaped.
