Description

Here is yesterdays shot but have changed it to B/W with my friend diomedes66 help. Yesterday there were comments about the grain and loss of some detail in the highlighted area's, I believe this to be the function of the camera not being able to extend into those areas, that is why I bought the Olympus E300. Again, Thank you for your comments, please give comments; both positive and in the form of constructive criticism. Be honest; you will not offend me, for this is a learning process.

I really like it! But I'm prejudiced as hell :-) Dynamic and magnificent range of tones! Well done indeed! BraVo!

Looks better in black and white I think. Doesn't look as grainy! Well it does still but looks like you did it on purpose!

i'm an admitted colorholic too :] & have much the same problem when it comes to depth of landscapes becoming a bit pixelated

Shoot the sky only is something everyone should learn not to do. Might be angels around :-). This one of yours is a fine composition and the sky can make a big difference. And it does here. Excellent tones.

it definetly has a different look in b/w and still is an excellent picture. I like the color to see the desert colors

Pauls is a good friend and he cares for you and your photography, I know first hand of this. We all go through learnig stages and photography is not different. There is a tool, it is very inexpensive but its value could be worth gold. Get yourself some stiff art board from an art store. One side is black, the other white. Does not need to be bigger that 8x10 inches. Now cut a window that is the same dimension as the cameras image. Example a proportion of a35 mm frame but twice the size. Use this when looking at a scene to photograph. Your now isolating different areas and studying it before actually photographing the image. By the way, black side is towards you, unless the image is dark. I even use one to help me refine my view. By the way, This is a wonderful shot!

this b/w one is filled with dramatic! not the delighted mood like in the other presentation! the grain is gone but why are steps at the tops of the hills? but it is a wonderful and impressive scene! ;o)
