Description

How's that for a sexy title? Side by side comparison of a IBM AO render on the left, and a global illumination on the right. There is a point light in both pictures in the globe on the sword handle, and both have had the same postwork done on the globe. I believe the GI lights were brighter (hard to judge that), so some of the differences come from that. The red of the point light is less visible in the GI render, and the details of the pearlescent reflection map on the clothes is harder to see. The shadows are significantly different (note the glowing nostrils on the right). I really like the AO lighting over anything I've seen Poser do before.

I prefer the one on the left, looks a bit more natural! Great work!

I think the right one is moer realistic. Because P6 dose not use HDRI for IBL it lacs contrast. Maybe contrast set to 5 for the IBL could improve it. But you need an spot or point light for specular with IBL i think. Good work and thanks for the infos. Uwe
