Description

UF A little roughness introduced to the surface with Focal Blade. Big Thankyou to all who kindly viewed and sent compliments on Flutter. I was wondering if everyone uses post processing. I can't decide if I am cheating, but then by altering the original "find" you could call that pp.... or could you? Why does this bother me?

Your efforts with UF are coming along a treat this is a grand image. I can make no comment about post-processing as I|hardly ever use it - but that's cos I haven't really get to grips with it. The Fractal Forum has a discussion on the subject at the moment

Beautiful - especially like the "outlining" effect. I always feel that if post work makes a picture look more like what the artist wanted, they should go for it. After all it is YOUR work and YOUR name that appears on the piece. Why not make it the best possible?

Wonderful image, I agree with Duncan, PP in moderation should be allowed for a fractal image, after all ... what is the definition of a pure fractal :-)

It's your fractal, and you decide how you want to best display it. I don't think the surface 'roughing' took away from the gorgeous details of the fractal. It's still got those fantastic details! Love the gradient as well! Nice one Jenny! V (:

Beautiful image. Great texture. Wonderful background. I don't object to PP and use it sometimes for added effect to enhance my fractal. Don't let bother you.

Jenn, this is magnificent!! I sincerely hope that you continue to pursue UF3 as I can see that you can and will create some real masterpieces with it! As far as pp, I use it regularly as you know, and in my case it makes up for my lack of skill with techniques in UF. I think that, in most cases moderation and care is the key.

Elegant abstract, Jenny - Love the way you contrast simplicity to complexity with such graceful balace. The coloring, textures, lighting and high definition of render are very beautiful. IMHO there's nothing wrong with pp as long as all it does is enhance the beauty of the fractal (as here)- to me, it's "cheating" when you take the fractal out of its originating program and alter it such that it is barely or non-recognizeable, or make it less than the dominating focus of the image, or subject it to weird distorting photographic effects that alter its fundamental design. Thanks for sharing the excellence and creativity! VOTE

Nice work Jenny!...I use pp sometimes but not for pieces I want to print only things that are just for the screen.

To hell with views on PP..When someone adds anything to an image, that is PP!!!...if it be a frame or a tag (Signature)...At the end of the day it.s Post processing veering away from the original image, so do not let that bother you...Fantastic image BTW!

I totally agree with Rik and RJ on this one! If you want to PP, then PP! (Just flush afterwards..HAHA..sorry, couldn't help it). This is a very richly textured image and needs to be in the Hot 20! Bravo!!!

The finished result is what counts, IMO. I use pp for sharpening and sometimes a contrast tweak..and for re-sizing and sig (when I add one). I think it's entirely up to the artist. enhancement tools are meant to be used..to do just that- enhance. And you've done that beautifully with this image. Love the detailed design, lovely coloring and- yes..the wonderful texture!

I keep looking at the piece, and I find that this is really very elegant (especially the central form). After effects should enhance and not "make" the image- my rule of thumb. I don't think you're in any danger of "going overboard".

I see no reason to not alter the fractals as long as one does not depart too far from the original. anything else is 2d/mixed medium. this is a very classy fractal and a design for royalty

absolutely magnificent designed fractal, Jenny, looks like lace really smile please don't call postwork cheating, ya are not satisfied with the end-result of what a fractalprogram produces and add some of your artistic creative talents to it with a different program ... a design isn't finished until you decide to publish it ;-)
