Description
Just messin' around with rocks in V5I. I wanted to recrete the sort of formations you find in the westerrn deserts of the USA. Where the water came from, I'm not sure. Must be a long, long, time ago.
Thanks for your comments on my work and enjoy!

Great idea! Be careful: don't sneeze! ;-)

Maybe it should be named "Unsafe Harbor". It is a really great image, Rick.

In response to mbwetzel's comment: I think the name was chosen on purpose. Its kind of a joke. anyway, Awsome Pic. Truly Awsome. Was it done in Vue 5 or 4?

To answer Elminster_ZK's question - this is V5I. I turned on Global Ambience and this is the result. I tried a small render with Global Illumination. The render took nearly 10 times as long and I really couldn't see much difference considering the boost in render time. GA adds very little time to renders.

It's definitely a very striking image. The sense of scale provided by the ship gives tremendous mass to the precarious rocks, and makes you want to believe it, even if the physics of it were impossible. Great work.

I'm something of a fan of rock stacking. The physics aren't impossible.. just the size. Great idea, Rick!

Fantastic terrain work - not sure I'd want to sail under it, but love the concept.
