Description

Another attempt at photography. Kodak easyshare 330 dx ~( dosnt always work it was dropped lol) a few filters and postwork and then made the frame myself in paintshop 7 with the paint tools and smudge! I had a hard time getting this one up as my computer refused to take anymore uploads... took me 3 days of playing with my computer to do it.. I am getting a new commputer rebuilt, but it won't be ready until mid-may. Hopefully by then, I will have a new camera as well . I love Olympus but I am told Nikon and Canon are good as well, imput on the make would be helpful and appreciated..! I took this swan was taken a week ago . I saw him (or her) far off and waited pateintly for him to come closer , he seemed a bit skiddish as many kids were playing nearby. Finally, I went to the car and got some chips and this one sailed over to me gracefully think he was hungry!.. so, I kneeled down and caught him up close with wings up , with this curious glance as to what sort of food I held in my hand. I know there has been many swan pictures on here and this is not too origanal , but it is special to me cause I had never been so close to a swan in my life. and then theres a story behind it personally. When I see a swan I think of the story of the "Ugly duckling", my Mother used to read me the story by Anderson, I always loved it. When I was a little girl I was chubby and made fun of and didn't have many friends. SO I would sit alone at school lunches and draw and daydream and that always would make me happier.. In the summer of 8th grade I had a sudden growth spurt to five foot seven from five feet and the weight suddenly came off and my hair grew and no one knew who I was when I came back to school . I had exercised rollerskating and it payed off. I didn't understand why all of a sudden people liked me. I am glad for the experiance because i judge by what is in the inside from being rejected for years.. just thought of this when I took the picture you see here and thought I would share it with you! LOL I am older now and do not consider myself by any means a swan , but its more of a relation of an experiance what I went through at an early age... Thank you for your time and comments, I have been blown away by all your love and suppoert on here.. (forgive me again for being behind again on comments as my compt crashes every 10-15 minutes then takes another 10-15 to get back up again.) Have a great day or night ~whatever it is there! ♥ ~Kimmers!

I too can totally relate. Same similar experience. Nowadays I feel more like a Sharphe (spelling?)!LOL:P I really love my Fuji, they make excellent lenses, but I have to agree with Soulofharmony, the equipment is only as good as the operator! Careful with that one LOL!!!:P

Dear Kimarie, Really pretty and they truly are such gorgeous birds. There is a lake at one of the research centers down the road that has a pair. I've often stopped while biking to watch them glide effortlessly around. Hope you get you new computer soon. That has got to really be frustating!! As to the cameras - I'm probably not an objective person to ask - I bleed Nikon - I've always like their lens particularly. So, I don't have much experience with anything else. The key thing is to get one that YOU are comfortable with. The equipment matters a lot less than the photographer!!! Excellent work!! Love, Meredith

Jeez, I didn't receive notification of this being posted ... I'm glad that I chose to make a visit to your gallery or I'd have missed this fine example of nature photography. Excellent artwork, Kimmers -- BTW, I hope the computer issues are, soon, a thing of the past.

Ha! (laughing at the comment above) I love this, Kimmers! He is so beautiful. I was a big HC Anderson fan throughout all of my childhood, and I can relate to the story, too. Believe me hon...you ARE a SWAN!!! Love it.
