I love the lighting and pose. I am not in love with the texture on the back of the hand (The vein looks a little off.) I wonder if you tightened the spotlight more if it would draw more attention to the face and fingers and away from the back of the hand. Small criticism. I really do like the pose a lot. It is very contemplative and moving.

The focus of the image here is intended to be the hands, as the title of the image suggests. :-)

I really like the perspective used here, and the lighting works as intended. My attention is immediately drawn to the hands, and my eyes then work their way to the face, etc. So top job with that. However, I think the hands, being the focus of this piece, can have a bit more detail. The vein is a good start, but seems stark since the rest of the hand is very very smooth. If the vein is a seperate map, perhaps use it in the displacement channel, and increase the bump map for the rest of the hand to match. Overall I think it's a very interesting piece, and compliment you on a great imaginative effort.
