For I do not know who my people are
or where they are.
all I know is where I am now
and it is not a nice place to be
I think many countries have gone through something similar where those that considered themselves "civilised" knew what was best for the native inhabitants
In Australia we have the "stolen generation" babies and children taken from their mothers to give them "a better life" but for many where they ended up was more savage than the life they were being protected from

A truely sad,but for lack of a better word historic set of cercumstances. It was also done here in Canada with the native people. Sad to say they were mistreated and abused by the Roman catholic church here. In the past few years they have filed class action law sutes against the church. This spawned yet another travisty against these nobel people. The lawyers they hired so over charged for services that the people came out with almost nothing. She is a most beautiful character. Excellent+++++

Oh Chris! This is so sad and beautiful! I saw an excellent movie about this very same thing called "Rabbit-Proof Fence". Highly recommended if you haven't already seen it. :)
