Description

Canon EOS 10D, Canon 100-400L IS lens at 300mm ISO 400, 1/2000 second at f5.6 with fill flash, hand held Exposure compensation at +1/3 stop There's something about the sunlight that can either make a photo, or ruin it. Often the sunlight is too harsh, and it blows out the highlights and wastes an otherwise good shot. This cattle egret stayed perched long enough for me to get off several shots, and adjust my exposure to get this photo. I took several shots, then I waited until she turned her head toward the sun to get the light in her eye. This photo was made yesterday at 8:48am. Light is at its best early and late, but it is too strong in the mid-day to get good photos of white birds. Thank you for your kind comments on Snowy Egret .... I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Okay, this is one excellent birdshot. You perfectly captured the whites in the feathers...as you say, not an easy feat. Cudos!
