Description

I'm currently learning Maya, and this is a test I did to understand how lighting works in Maya. Does anyone no why the refraction in the glass looks completely different in mentalRay compared to the Maya Software Renderer (Direct Illumination)?

Absolutely Stunning! I like the High Dynamic Range Rendering.

Interesting displays...! You'd have to use all the same ray depth settings for it to be an accurate, fair comparison though. Keep that in mind. My guess that the main difference, aside from photon accuracy vs. ray inaccuracy, is that your ray depths are (perhaps unintentionally) different in all of these... But I LOVE the GI mental ray render...!
