Dear Ricahrd, you are certainly right about the crayons - boy of boy do they melt if left in a car or something! A few years ago, I stood fascinated at a street artist in New Orleans at Jackson square that put the melting qualities to good use. He used a variety of knives, rasps, files, and even a potato peeler to scape of bit of crayon onto heavy are paper - almsot like a sand painting. When done, he used a butane torch to melt them all together and into the paper. We were ther in winter, but he said in summer, the heat of the sidewalk would do most of the melting job. The colors and texture were incredible - much like your image above!!! Very excellent work!! Love, Meredith
