Description


This was quite a departure for me and quite the experiment. Everything but The Great One himself was done in Photoshop from scratch (well, the crowd was cloned in from a college hockey photo) Wayne is highly Photoshopped as well, but he started life as a digital photo I took of a 12 inch McFarlane Toys Gretzky figure I bought recently. It's not perfect, but I'm still pretty damn pleased I was able to get it looking as good as it does :) You can see the "before" pic here.

Nicely done! I think you can consider that experiment a resounding success! I especially like the reflection of the skate in the ice. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the crowd baackground -- the repeating tile texture is a bit of a giveaway. Other than that, though, bravo.
