Description

Hello everybody. It's little old Me. Well, Dave gave me a lesson about lights and importing a poser model. Which, I won't remember this time next week... hahahaha. But I'm trying..... Let's see... I started with a mountain then turned it upside down for a pond. Funny, the water didn't pour out. Then added a whole lot of (white pine) tree's and covered the shore line. Then picked a water for the ground and moved it up to fill the empty pond mountain. Then textured everything.. that took all day.. Dave said it would only be an hour or so.. Then he showed me how to grab a horse from Poser and export it to Bryce. Then added a horn for making it a Unicorn. Finally, added some flood lights for the sun rays. And I added some fog. Then rendered it. That took about 2 hours while we had dinner. Added some flowers and butterflies in post work using corel paint. And WAAA-LAAA.... My first masterpiece... now don't laugh!!!! (or I'm leaving and taking my crayons with me!) Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.. (with a bit of help from Dave) I'm dedicating this to my son BigKenLee (Ken) being as he made a wonderful image for me called the 'Family Album'. I really appreciated that! He's getting pretty good with a paint program.. specially that cloning brush... hehehe. Have a great week and see you again soon.. Love Silkylady (AKA: Elnor, Mom, Hey you!)

Dear Elnor, this is really fanatastic, as is your commentary! Boy oh boy do I love people with personality and a sense of humor!! And you've got loads!!! Woo-Hoo!! You've done a great job on getting everything just right. Bryce is a lot of fun! Your terrain really looks nice and the water worked out really well! The reflections are so fine! The unicorn is really dynamic and the volumetric light rays really add a stunning element to the scene. A very magical fantasy realm!!! I didn't know that you (and Dave) used Corel Photo-Paint. That's what I do all of my post and prep work in. We are mostly a Corel shop because of it's AutoCAD compatibility and because of the Visual Basic programming capabilities. Really excellent work and such a fun image!!! Love, Meredith

This is fantastic Mom! I watched you make it and you have a good artistic eye. All the elements you wanted are here. The rays, reflections and early morning pond in a forest.. so cool! I'm one very proud son. And see??? Wasn't that hard.. Just a tad longer than I predicted.. By 500% hehehe. Oh, well, I'm lousy with estimates. (I estimated 3 hours and it took 11.) We'll see how you do outside the beginners Gallery.. because I don't think this belongs there! Of course, I'm a bit partial too..hehehe. Love ya and Excellent Dedi to Ken. Hope he does something in Bryce again soon.. it's a cool easy program. Dave :^) VOTE

This IS very nice!!! Almost like my Unicorn tapestry blackout curtain-pesty sunlight reflections on my monitor...11 hours, not surprising, I've learned that if you want to make excellent 3D, one must "bite the bullet, swallow the looooooooong render times" but, oh, its so worth it nu?

How absolutely gorgeous!! So magical! The pines look so real and the trees in the background look so natural. Soooooo....when are you going to enter a contest? Everything is porportion, even the little details are covered.. You're actually quite talented! This is a beautiful a unicorn as I've seen. My favorite being the pegusus, but the way you have him facing the light it's almost as if the rays bring him to life or he's saying thank you! And thank you for sharing this with us. ~Michelle~
