Not sure if this is the right species but a Dedication to my dear friend Ilona who played host on my recent trip to the Netherlands thanks so much for such a great time dear to you and your family It was a treat to be treated like a Pasha lol!! Thanks to Steve for the right ID

Danny, I have it on pretty good authority, this is a Crowned Lapwing, found in the south and east of Africa, and obviously a long way off-course!! Was it in a private collection? Or a zoo? Would be interested to know. Lapwings & plovers (I'm told!) are part of the same family. This is an extremely rare bird this far north. Congratulations!!
