Description

Made entirely with photoshop blur and distort filters (started with a white to black gradiant). This one is part of my experiments with using fade and generally using dodge. I can't really tell how this came out because I felt inspired to work in the labs here at school, and the moniters are the kind of LCD that fakes high color depths. General Howto: Start with something simple, apply a series of distorts on it (this was the ZigZag around center) then alternate between distorts and radial zooming blurs/gaussian blurs which generally get applied with linear dodge mode by using fade C+S+F. At some point add color to the mix with the colors dialog. Keep on bluring and distorting, now with interesting things like shears, and perhaps some different modes (nothing interesting on this one, but on another one made by a similar method I used some other modes to generate distinct bodies of color and then featherd those with radial blurs.... it looks a bit like a nova). This has been very fun to play with, and I highly recommend giving it a try!
