Description

Hello Rendo People...I just noticed on my capitalist calandar that today, May 5, 2005 is designated National Prayer Day. I figure this is cool. One of my dear friends here in Olympia, a deeply religious, very kind hearted Woman of the Catholic faith has taken the liberty of compiling a weekly prayer list to distribute via the Internet to a select clientel in hopes that the the recipients will offer a pray for those on the list. Some people she adds, some are suggested by others. This time even I suggested a few...perhaps you may recognize some of them. I thought it appropriate to post this, esp. being National Prayer Day. I figure it is the least I can do. I am not trying to push any particular religion or anything...but I do believe...in the power of Prayer...from the heart prob. works best...but what do I know. Anyways, I figure it can't hurt to ask...and I know that in the past the favor of prayer has been performed on my behalf, and I didn't even realize it at the time, and of which I am grateful. I thoght it was a waste of time at the time, but....things and opinions can change. Did all these prayers make make a difference? God knows... Here's Maria's e-mail to me: >Subject: Prayer requests >Date: Wed, 4 May 2005 06:56:41 -0700 > >Dear Friends in Christ, > >May 6th, First Friday, Is the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after the >9:00 AM Mass until 4:00 PM, and in the evening the Blessed Sacrament will be >exposed again for Adoration from 9 PM to 11 PM. Jesus invites us to go to >Him. He loves us unconditionally no matter how we are. Let us go always to >Him with faith and thanksgiving. "Come to me, all you who labor and are >burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 12:28). We give to Jesus our >problems, burdens, sicknesses, prayer requests, our life, and put it under >the cross of Jesus. We ask Him to wash them in His redeeming Blood. We >should be feeling light because we left our burdens at the feet of Jesus. >Please come to visit Him. Jesus can heal and restore health not only to >the body, but also to the soul and to the spirit. Jesus gives us the peace >that world cannot give. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you" >(Jn 14:27). > >May 7th, First Saturday, Is the Anointing of the Sick (before 9:00 AM >Mass) If you have a serious illness or planning to go for surgery, please >receive this important sacrament. We are asking the Lord to give His >strength, His comfort, His grace, and His healing to the body and soul. >Jesus does what is the best for us. We praise Him and thank Him! > >PLEASE PRAY FOR: >Emile Strazicich, in the hospital >Ginny C., kidney dialysis >Deborah M., her family has special needs >Maria S., deep grieving due to son who passed away >Joe, was 2 weeks in the hospital, since then acting strange >Hone, 2 major hip surgeries >Tania, depression (young talented painter) >Erica, peace of mind (great young artist) >Heavenly Father, we ask you in the Name of Jesus to send your healing light >and love above these people. Heal them according to Your will, and enable >them to serve You with a healthy body, soul and spirit. We ask Mary the >Mother of God, all the saints and angels, especially Archangel Raphael (the >patron of healing) for intercession of their needs. We give all the glory >to you. In Jesus' Name we pray. > >May is a special month of the year. We honor our Blessed Mother this month, >who is a Mother to all of us. Thank you Blessed Mother for giving us Jesus. >May 8th is Mother's Day. We thank God for our dear moms, living or >deceased, who always will have a special place in our hearts. May 15th, >Pentecost Sunday, is nine days before we can start the novena to the Holy >Spirit (or pray by heart to Him) who is the source of light and healing. We >ask Jesus to cover us with His precious blood and fill us with His Holy >Spirit. Come Holy Spirit and breath your life into everything that I do. >Thank you and God bless you!
