Sorry, don't know the english name of this insect. In german it's named "Schwebfliege". Thanks for your interest.

It looks like a wasp to me. They actually bite instead of sting, and can do so multiple times. Great macro with the green and yellow of the plant - but be careful around these guys!

Considering the size of the skeeter on the upper right, this macro makes the subject appear bigger than it really is. So I'll second the hoverfly opinion. They're quite harmless actually. It's one of those insects that uses mimicry so it's more likely to be left alone.

Would agree with Nikki about the 'hoverfly' (die kann aber gut Englisch, lol) Aber Hauptsache Du weisst den lateinischen Namen, Angeber, Schlaumeier... :-p (sorry, das musste sein) Sieht echt Klasse aus mit den Gelbten, macht Riesig Spass mit der Macrophotografiererei oder ?

Well I'd call the one in the center a bumblebee and have no idea what the other one is. One thing for certain it is a gorgeous field of yellow that bug has found and I'll bet a treasure trove of goodies.
