The song 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' By Green Day inspired this piece.

These words ring true "Richest in the world yet poorest in compassion" The richest do live a gluttonous life..money and power insultating them from the real world.

Miss Elizabeth: you sound like someone I know called TallPockets. WINK. Except, you say it SO much better. And, in a lot LESS words! WINK 2. VOTE!

I have mixed feelings about this I'm not convinced we are poorest in compassion I suppose that comes from knowing what addictions to drugs will and can do to someone, as his or her families.Let me put it this way I know a woman who if she did not rid herself of her own brothera serious drug addictwhom she strived greatly to helpover and over and over again She too would be in the streets now. This is the saddest part about it all truly it is heartbreaking! Although, I think if nothing else, we NEED to get our children that are homeless for whatever reason out of our streetsSo therefore to me, as I am sure others we are rich in compassion as welljust the answers are not always simple.

Sad and so true. Often I have wondered about the world help we offer when we have children in our nation who are hungry, and naked, and poor. We send our soldiers across the world when the real battle is in our streets against the gangs and the child abusers and drugs and criminals we have no room in the prisons for.A powerful piece. Pardon me for the beginnings of a rant.
