Description

This photo, shot westward from the normal route to a peak called Vengetind (1852m), shows the Troll Wall in the distance. This wall (of the "one step out - one kilometer down variety) was a notoriously known BASE-jump site in the eighties, but after a string of tragic accidents and some very risky rescue operations BASE-jumping in this wall was prohibited by law. The highest point on the right of the wall is called Store Trolltind (the Large Troll Peak 1788m). The valley floor beneath the wall reaches a meagre 80m, so most parts of the wall totals at approximately 1500m in height - with the sheer part being "only" about a kilometer. The peak on the left, Romsdalshorn (1550m), is an easy climb which rewards anyone reaching the top with a magnificent view of the Troll Wall straight across the valley.

I just have to ask...is this shot taken recently? The reason why i ask is that im probably going there in 2 weeks....been there before and Trollstigen....RULES!!! Talk about winding road. Norway sure is beautiful, ill have you know that most us swedes envy you...that is why we insist on making fun of you, LOL. Gorgeous capture by the way, really shows its entire beauty!!!
