Fantastic feel of futile and desperate flight from the inevitable. There is a poem by FRANCIS THOMPSON which begin's......I fled Him, down the nights and down the days; I fled Him, down the arches of the years; I fled Him down the labyrinthine ways of my own mind: and in the midst of tears.......The green of her clothing links her inextricably with her surroundings, the exterior becomes a manifestation of her interior. I will shut up now!

Thanks for your comments. You are exactly right. The jungle is meant to bring to life her inner self. The jungle is made up in part by pieces of her. Scattered through the jungle are her arms, legs, smile, eyes ... Thank you for seeing that the jungle is actually her. It's a manifestation of her anxiety. I almost never try to put things into my artwork, to make them any deeper than just what is on the surface. Thank you for noticing.
