In many ways things have changed little over time in places like these. It is interesting to see the person on the far left, totaly in the shadows and alomost missed like the other one on the right. So I decided to count how many people there are in this photograph. I come up with 9.

Mary...this is just utterly amazing! Not sure exactly sure how to explain but the interior of the building reminds me a bit of an old prison. i'm not sure why. the door? the texture? did you do postwork to this image or is this the way it looks from the cam? the inside of it gives me shivers. I don't know what that thing is hanging on the wall on the left but it scares me, and my imagination goes off. the photo provokes so many emotions in me. i also have much interest in the people, especially that man on the right who is looking at something on the ground. i guess what stand out the most in this image to me, other than the women leaving, is that little window at the top of the building and the shape of the door. this image has such a spiritual feel to it, but i can't tell you why. it just does. what is "souk" Mary? Incredible capture!
