Really amazing work. I'm mesmerized (and I'm not, normally, by grout - I assure you!)

Great render! I love the texture on the pots. I'm really amazed at the atmosphere output you got thru Carrara. It loks more like a Lightwave rendering! Whats the differance between a Carrara scene ambiet light and a anything glows ambient? Keep up the great work! petes

Carrara's built in ambient light will apply evenly to all surfaces, so even spots that should be deep shadow will be 50% gray or whatever you set it to. What I did here was basically a slight variation of what I did in this tutorial: http://www.digitalcarversguild.com/tutorials/envlight/envlight.htm For this scene I created a bryce sky with some oranges, deep reds, and blue grays. I also applied it to a Vertex Modeler sphere instead of sphere primitive. The facets are more evenly sized and generate nicer output.

Very nice. Intriguing composition and lighting.

10 for obvious composition and technical accomplishments and for the fact that your contributions to the RDS and Carrara world have lead to a much better rendering tool overall. Your extensions are great! This rendering looks like it came from Lightwave. Great work, Eric!
