Description

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. The common name of this strange looking plant is skunk cabbage. Lucky for me it was growing under the water. Amazing what you can discover simplt by taking a walk in the woods. Thank you for viewing and also for your comments.

Beautiful Lynda! I thought it was a lobster at first glance but now can see the beauty of the skunk cabbage. The effect of the water makes this a most creative and stunning photograph. More people should spend time in the woods enjoying the many lessons Nature holds for us.

Had me going there, couldn't figure out what it was... fascinating and abstract. Oh, I don't think the aroma of skunk cabbage would ever be mistaken for a rose :)

I am glad for you it was under water also. I like most people do not like skunks and even less the odor. excellent capture

Very remarkable plant, blooming underwater! It won't attract butterflies, I suppose! Great find, impressive shot!
