Ciao Danny ! What a splendid portrait ! The Crowned Crane is for me another memory of my childhood in Africa (in Congo). I often saw some of them when I was a little girl. I found this large bird very impressive, his glance frightened me a little. But at the same time I found his hairstyle a little ridiculous. On ground he's not very majestic, but as soon as it takes its take-off, it's anything else ! The migrations of Cranes in particular are marvellous to see. I like the details of your portrait, the lightness of his peak. A pure wonder Danny !

I tried that hair-do out in early 1982. I like it on the duck much better. Fantastic work, Dan.

I have walked among the sandhill cranes as they have walked in the roadway with the cars. They are so vertical and thin. As elegant as a gentleman with a walking stick. This one adds so much to that simpler fare.

Several wows on this one, aside from the excellent shot... that bird has quite the impressive "do", plus the coloring around its beak. Heck of a capture.
