Description

Larus Marinus, or Great Black-Headed Gull. Another bird shot at St. Bees Head back in March. Going back in July, can't wait!! I'm glad you liked the rapeseed field pic, I'm pretty proud of that one, even if I did have to clone-out a housing estate!! It is a real joy to receive your comments, thank you very much! I couldn't think how to crop this one, so went for the straight diagonal. EOS 20D, 100-400L @400mm F6.3, 1/3200s ISO 400 Have a good week! ..Steve..

Oh you guys and your close ups of these flying birds! LOL! I was in the cemetary yesterday where nature is believe it or not a plenty and lo above was a beautiful hawk! I'm still trying to get use to my digital so I'm zoom'n in and by the time I get the right zoom a goin' it's a goin' on in another direction and for 10 minutes I was runnin' around that cemetary with my camera pointed up at the sky. I'm just darn lucky I didn't get hauled off to the looney bin! :) VOTE!

Ah yes Steve, a Great Black-Headed Boring Gull. Flies backwards in ever decreasing cirles and bores itself to death LOL. Excellent!!! Oh, and as you are into cloning out housing estates, there's one about 4 miles from here that everyone would be glad to be rid of :)

Best sign that this isn't boring is: Zacko hasn't started his comment with "Ohhhhhh myyyy goooddddd.....", that's really unusual, lol Could watch birds (+ photos of 'em) all day long, so its not boring for me (but you know, we bird lovers are bit crazy :-) This happens to me very often too, that I think about photos I've done they are boring , because I see those scenes nearly every day (especially landscapes), therefore its not easy to judge how interesting it could be for others. For my taste it's an almost perfect 'in flight'-capture:(because)interesting shadows, crisp, eye excellent lit, cool how they can hide their feet... blablabla ;-)

Chris Haeberle has expressed the general opinion rather elegantly - lol
