Description

This is the result of my first real attempt at making something with Terragen. Any suggestions/critiques are always welcome. ;)

Very nice beginning. I would say that your water is a little too busy. Decrease the surf and it'll look a lot better. Your POV is very nice on this Terrain. Try working more with surface layers to create a little more realism. If you add a slightly darker sand color right at the water and a little above, it'll look more like a beach. Lastly, atmospherics are the most important and powerful part of Terragen. If you can master a good atmosphere, you can do almost anything. Try playing around with sun-strength, and angles, then move on the to other light options (such as haze and decay) and try to get a little more clarity and excitement. A really nice image though, especially as your first try

Agree with Sanosoke. Judging from how you've made a shoreline and grass surfaces you understand the basics of surfacing. If you add more surface layers each with varying colors and coverage, you will definitely get a more realistic surface. The more time you spend with terragen the better you will get! Excellent first try btw!
