Description

When i was 13, i found a baby blackbird in our driveway, and i took her in and raised her, i have to feed her with tweezers, and i fed her worms and cat-food, yes, they like cat food. i use to love my black-bird sitting on my hand, or lap while i fed her. She was so tame. I named her Kassidy, but then when she learnt how to fly, with my insane waving arms about, i started to let her sit outside in a cage (i took the bottom of so she could have access to the grass). Until the day came, i had to let her go, it was the saddest day ever, then my mom brought me a baby cockatiel. I named her Yuna, from Final fantasy, though I hated the game, just liked the name. I had her wings clipped because I was a little over protective, but when a month went bye I couldn

awwe so pretty! i have a cockatiel who's quite eager to get out and away from me lol he sings all the time and whistles! when we dont talk to him he knocks on his food dish and makes it sound like someones knocking at the back door so we get up to look..then he just sings his lil heart out

Be ever so careful with these litle birdies - you'll never know where they'll land: behind the sideboard, whatever; they could hurt their wings badly. My budgie (called Chip) is so scared of the outer world whenever I let him out of his cage he'll fly right back inside. Nice shot, but I don't like the lamp.

Be careful! I know you like to see them fly but please keep her wings in a full clip. They can fly away through a accidentally open door or window in a second..... Even a show clip gives some of them enough flight to escape... I've seen to many "Tame" birds get scared and make a dash to escape, and keep going! At least Clipping keeps them within retrieval range. Mine even with a full clip could navigate the house well enough to get into all kinds of trouble. ( still does )

yuna was mine from baby, no feathers, and was completely dependant on me, so she had flown outbefore but came back within minutes...

Dear Jessika, Yuna looks like a very special friend and obviously cares a great deal for you. And I'm sure really enjoys all your attention. Pets can be so much fun! Just remember to keep a close eye on her as birds can get startling and fly away and then not be able to get back home again. Excellent photo! Love, Meredith
