Description

This is a photo of the Fort Randall Chapel near Pickstown, South Dakota. One of the many forts built on Dakota, Lakota and Nakota land thus breaking the treaty of 1860. My Grandfather saw Chief Sitting Bull as a prisoner in this area when he was a young boy. The photo was taken in 2000 with a 35MM Nikon then scanned to my computer. My parents at one time had a photo of this same chapel with a partial roof and a tree growing inside.

They made us many promises, but kept only one. They promised to take our land. And they took it. Great image! And a great story! Maaike
