Description

...ALABASTER... Champion City, California is the home of the Champion City Crusaders. The team was formed in the early 1960s by a superhero called Champion. For ten years, he and his companions, calling themselves the Crusaders, helped defeat threat after threat on their beloved city. In defense of his city, Champion gave his life. To honor their fallen hero, the city changed its name to Champion City. The city and the heroes of the Crusaders have changed over the last three decades, and new heroes have appeared to replace the retired, and fallen. Alabaster is one of the new heroes to place the fallen. Her good nature and use of ice based magic are her trademarks. ...Credits... Very nicely done, Mike! I love the texture on her dress!

Fair color balance. Tip: try using the background picture as a source for selecting the colors for your lights, then fade and lighten them slightly. Her pose and expression seem a bit stiff, but you managed to avoid the dress, very impressive for a first try. Tip: move the arms farther apart and/or bend the collar back a bit to exaggerate action,.. also bending the head and neck opposite directions (subtly) can emphasize action. I like the way you made the face, not your average plain Jane Vicky. Check your shadows settings, the left arm seems like it should be in shadow, but isn't. Keep at it Mike,... you're doing better than I did on my first attempt.

Thanks for the tips TalonGE - I'm still learning to mix the backgrounds with the rendor. I was trying to duplicate the pose Charlie C did for the original drawing of her, and that was half the problem she was a little stiff in the original pic. I agree with the lighting. I'm still trying to get the lighting down. Thanks again for the comments.
