Description

greetings! the design in the picture that you are looking at was created by me, on a "Welsh" beach, with a 10 foot rake, scribing it into the sand! I have been doing a formation every year now for four years, and i thought some of you may find it interesting? I have always been fascinated by landscape art, i live in England, wiltshire, wherte a lot of "Crop formations" appear each year (check out-www.cropcircleconnector.com) I like to create images in the landscape using all different mediums. The beauty of making sand formations as you would expect, is that they only last a few hours, sometimes coach loads of people whatch me create them, and give me a clap when ive finnished,ha(maybe even a beer, in the pub at the top of the cliff!:)) You dont realy know what it looks like until you climb high, and unlike creating formations at night you normally have an audience appreciating what you do! The formation shows up as the sun hits the raked lines from behind, so you are actually seeng a shadow, i did darken the picture a little just to highlight the formation! This particular image is about 200 ft across, but over the years they have got bigger! I mainly keep to doing "cirlcles" or "Celtic knots"(whatever the string allows!) but this year i am going to create a Welsh "Dragon" as on their "flag". I am going to post three more images on this theme, so if your interested, "whatch this space!" All the best , nick

Without your explanation I would have thought this was a photoshopped image of a beach that you manipulated to add the "formation." Now, I'm blown away that you actually created it with a rake!!! How fantastic! Great work. I'd treat you to a pint were i there!
