The Recent For the Love of a Child contest got me thinking about parents and children. Some of the people connected with the contest spoke heart wrenchingly of losing their children. I couldn't enter the contest, because I was a sponsor. lol. But it did inspire me. So here's my version, dedicated to parents everywhere, and to people who have loved ones in Iraq.
It is also dedicated to the gentleman at this website, whose personal photos gave me a clearer picture of what it looks like in Iraq.

The flag is BACKWARDS. The American flag is to be displayed with the star field in the upper left corner, whether it is hung vertical or horizontal. You dishonor servicemen by not getting it correct. Not trying to be harsh, but you should fix it.

jasa, your information is incorrect. The flag is properly displayed. It is "backwards" on the right arm of US military uniforms because of the way it looks when worn on a soldier's shoulder. It is the "other" side of the flag. I had the same initial reaction, and was pointed to this website. http://www.marlowwhite.com/faq-why-is-the-flag-patch-reversed.html Hope that helps. -Heidi

Great and moving image. To often we forget about the family that each service man leaves behind when they deploy. Supporting the troops also means supporting the wifes, girlfriends, husbands, daughters, sons, moms, and dads left behind. The flag is displayed according to US Army Requlations. MAJ, MI USAR

Just got back from visiting my sis and her hubby and their adorable daughter...he was in Supply in Kuwait, making sure our troops in Iraq got what they needed. He was away from her for a long time, so it does hit home. Beautiful.
