Description

Drive north from Loch Lomond up Glen Falloch and you pass these ancient Caledonian pine trees clinging on for survival. The whole country was once covered in these beautiful looking forests. We came along and chopped the lot down for sheep and ships. Now we're left with mono-culture forest's, set out in horrible big geometric shapes. They leave the landscape looking devastated when they are felled to make Akea flatpack furniture, or cabers, or matches or whatever.

almost a painting...great scene presented; as for the choping part, we have to recognize that we are the dummest specie on the face of the Earth - mother nature gives everything in order to have a nice life, but we want more (because we're not smart enough to gel along with what we have)!

Thought provoking image...when will we learn to leave something for the next generation? But these trees still managed to survive despite all odds...Well seen and captured!

t is sad to see that they have not learned a major lesson. Fell a tree, plant a tree. So simple and ecologically correct. Hate to think what this does to soil erosion! As for the image, I feel that it is almost as if it were painted with colours so very soft and muted. Thank you for sharing.
