Description

For some of us (teachers) counting the days, this image is a blissful sight! The halls will soon be empty of students....YAY!!! and the echoes of school will subside for a few months. I am quite positive the students feel the same way as they have kept me informed of this OFTEN. lol Thanks for allowing me to vent....and of course views and comments are always welcome. Jodie :0)

Nice shot. It is always interesting how the personality of a place changes when no one is there. I once taught at a school which the custodians swore had a haunted hallway. During the day it was normal. But when the building was empty, it was not so hard to get spooked. Well... Enough memories from an "old timer" I guess :o)

No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks!!! My nemesis was Sister Dorothy, a double-ruler demon. Like the curved hall and light coming in from the end... maybe the light at the end of the tunnel?

I can't believe i never commented on this! It was one of my first pieces in your gallery and it stayed with me to this day...It's filled with the late day (early morning) shadows of a school now abandoned, and you can practically hear the silence. You captured the blues in reflections on the walls & floor, and the pinkish light at the end of the 'tunnel' (almost foreboding!). It's filled with the melancholy of a once-full place now-emptied; and those orange-ish moldings on the wall provide wonderful counterpoint. A beautiful shot, and one of the pieces that took me to your work again and again. World, meet Jodie. I love it. (Helllllooooooo from the bowels of your gallery! Anyone here? Is there a lightbulb in here? Helllooooooo.........)
