Description

Another church that caught my eye while on vacation in Jersey. This old time architecture really blows me away...wish I had more to say about this one but it's one of those you take a picture of and never get the details... News Flash! Thanks to Escafeld who sent me a link on churches in the Jersey area here is a little info on this church...Thanks so much for you input! Land for this building was given in 1837, years after the original congregation was organized in 1822 as the Mansfield Presbyterian church. In 1877, that name gave way to the First Presbyterian Church of Washington. This fine Romanesque Revival building was put up in 1862. The tower on the left once served as the base for a tall steeple, which burned and some of the tower had to be reconstructed. Many thanks for your comments on previous posts and hope you enjoy this one..Aloha4Now!

There looks to be a fine stained glass window at this end of the church. That's a great shot you've taken and I would like to help you with the details. However, I don't know exactly where you are and may have got the wrong Jersey, but have a look at this: - http://www.njchurchscape.com/county-list.html

Thanks for the info on this historic church! I love these old brick structures. Did you happen to get a closer view of that stained glass window? What we can see of it looks beautiful :)

A beautiful building in wonderful architectural style! Did you get inside and took some of those stained glass windows? I bet they are fantastic... at least from what you can see in the window at the front side.

nice architecture but the structure seems just a bit "constrained" in the frame...

Good old escafeld...he'll hook you up every time! ;) Superb shot of this aging beauty. I have to agree with Nasht, but know there was probably a reason you had to crop in so close.

I am building a church and I believe that every detail is important. I ordered church signs from https://bsign-store.com/collections/church-directional-signs and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and products. I chose the signs I needed from an extensive catalog where every detail was clearly described. After placing the order, I promptly received confirmation and information about the delivery time. The signs arrived on time and the quality of their execution fully met expectations. A great choice for any church setting!
