Description

Well! They're still humming and i'm still trying!I have never taken so many pictures of the same subject in my entire life! I can't believe how quick these little guys are! Those two picture were taken right from my kitchen window! You should see me trying to hide away from those super sonic little rascals! I really have to come up with a better plan let me tell you! Here's a couple of shots ,that i thought where not too bad! I have'nt yet master the perfect "frozen wing effect" well, maybe some day it will come!I have to learn how to use this new camera of mine!Specialy at high speed combined with light sensitivity/ASA/aperture/the whole kit! My resultes are always too dark or too grainy for this type of photography! Any advice from anyone is very much welcome! I want to thank everybody for there nice comments on my last posted picture, and also,a very special thank you to "Pimbotin" for my nice present yesterday, this guy rocks! Check it out! I wish you all a super great week-end! Take care !:)

That's something I've never tried! They look good to me, the second one is quite a good example of the frozen effect, though I prefer the first overall.

Wonderful shots! I think this is a Rufus (Roufus?) hummingbird? For tips on shooting hummers, see this very informative and well done web page from a professional photographer: http://www.rpphoto.com/howto/hummer/humguide1.htm

These look fine to me. Wish I could help but I'm still trying to learn my camera so can't give you any advice on flying birds. My suggestion would be to ask in the forum - I'm sure you'll get some excellent advice there. I like how you captured the birds colours in the top one and how it's little feet are tucked up. I'm sure you'll have fun practising some more ... Noeline

Bonne journ!

Excellent pictures - I gather they do 'flap' very fast so presumably you have to try speeds of 1/1000th second or more to get 'frozen' wings, the second shot looks as if the wings move faster than a speeding flash gun!!!
