Northern Arizona and Southern Utah are replete with interesting geography. This was taken on the road to Mesa Verde.

Very impressive picture there!I can see a road at the base of it,there must be rocks rolling dow the road constantly!Darn! I just had a second look at the photograph,and it's a powerline!You got me there!:)))Could'nt figure out why it was'nt builded on the flat!:)Great shot!Wonderful light and contrast also!

in comparison to the powerline tower, that rock formation is a monster! It's as if something even larger struck the formation and pulverized the rock to sand nestled all around at the base.

....I just love these buttes -with their eroded sloping base - though the lower portion almost looks unattached to the upper part- as the shadow doesn't seem to follow on down the side -- but that could be because the left part of the mound is forward of the rock --( just musing ) - great capture.
