Excellent sentiments and so true. I have gone there for I did every year till dad passed. The grave next to his also. Was a fellow Marine. And son did as a Boy Scout for many years. It leaves a good feeling in your heart knowing it too. Excellent picture Evie, you've captured it!!!!

I will miss the sound of the F-4 Phantoms' tramping boundary layer control with the slight scream of the compressor as it flies low over the house here May 30th. Even the F-16 "Fighting Falcons" may not roar over with their more boastful augmented turbofans lustfully bellowing. My parents have decided to rest in the Florida veterans cemetary while I think among the orphans where I was born is my last refuge.

That's where I'll end up.. My wife would be there now, cause it's free for me.. except.. she is buried next to her mother. I spent the money rather than have her in a distant plot surrounded by strangers. I wasn't thrilled about being a Vet myself, I came home at the peak of Vietnam un-popularity.. we all were baby killers in the public eye.. I got spat on, not congratulated.. sour grapes I guess... Anyway.. Great poem, image and thought Evie! Bravo! Dave :^) V

Dear Evie, a very touching work and very touching words. We all need to remember the price that has been paid for our freedom! Im still slaying e-bots!! (What else is new??) Until I can get caught up, Im still going to mostly just be leaving behind my calling card. But Id also like to leave a suggestion with everyone. In the three months Ive been here at Renderosity, Ive made a huge number of wonderful friends that really mean the world to me. And Id like to share a technique with everyone. Take a minute each day and have a look at Whats New. Pick out the work of someone you dont know, pop it open and have a nice little look at what they have done. And dont just look at people that do the same things as you. Pick from all the different categories and programs. You will learn a lot and youll get new ideas for postings. This cross pollination will help us build more robust hybrid art. All of the Old Masters in art history spent a great deal of time learning from the Old Masters of their day AND from each other. If we do the same, our work will continue to get better and better. And sometimes pick someone that is just starting out and give them a hand share YOUR knowledge with a newcomer. And then send them a brief IM. Introduce yourself and tell them how much you like their work. Youve just taken the MOST IMPORTANT step toward making a new friend!!! Everyone will learn from each other and each new friendship is one more stitch in this Tapestry of Friends that is Renderosity!!! SO MAKE ONE NEW FRIEND EACH DAY!!! Love, Meredith
