Description

In Indian temple dancing all the movements of the body and especially the hands have religious and mystical(and tantrick-magickal?)meanings.In Kathakali these are called 'Asamyutha Mudras'or single hand gestures and there are 24.Here are the final 12.On top is the name and below are some of the meanings.Kathakali hand gestures are assigned differently from the ones that the rest of India uses.

The hands are Michael-3 with International Beauty Textures from DAZ,which are modified in LW[8]. Kathakali Mudras(hand gestures) are 'traditional'from Kerala State in SW India.Kathakali was started in the 16th century and is based on ancient sanscrit theatre which was written of in the 'Natya Shastra'around 700-800 BCE when the Aryans invaded India and wrote of the dramatic art that the original Dravidian people of India practised (called Bharatha Natyam which I study)but kathakali has changed many things. The Aryans (known as the Hellenic Greeks this time)also invaded the Minoan civilization in the mediterranian at the same time (and also Iran and Russia). Does this answer your question?
