Description
The picture under this black banner has been banned from the Bryce Forum (***see addendum below) for being quote-unquote inflammatory. After the e-mails from Mr. MacLeod, I feel it has to do with his own biases. (Some very unfortunate ones, in my opinion. I am really trying to be civil about this.) If you care to know more, ask him. I've had a few run-ins with controversy, but this is the first time I've been blatantly censored, and it has left a very sour taste. Like I said, I am trying to be civil. But I think that today there is one less person in the world I respect. Thank you all for your patience in letting me post and vent here. I'm beginning to appreciate how rare and precious freedom of expression is.
Addendum: I should have been more specific when I wrote the above. The Bryce Forum is the Bryce Forum Gallery, at http://www.bmacleod.com/brycegallery.html. It is NOT the Bryce gallery we have here. Sorry for any confusion.

Oh, I disagree: freedom of expression isn't rare, though certainly precious. I think that everyone, from you or me to Macleod, 3DGod and the like are welcome to share their opinions, liked or not. Because in the end, by using our minds to express, we are all in our own ways fighting what Bin Laden and the Taliban stand for. Oh, and if I haven't mentioned it already, the picture is still one hell of a great piece of art.

I only support total genocide of humankind. Do I need to express my self more? ;P And could you but this image to some personal server so that it could be viewed without that black stuff on it ;)

I could swear you also had this posted in the Memorial Gallery about a week ago, right??? There are so many genuinely inflammatory images in this gallery, from ones that suggest it's un-American to demand justice to ones that suggest that God destroyed the WTC and even one that shows a nuclear bomb dropping on Mecca, and they singled out THIS ONE for censoring??? Mr. MacLeod, what standard do you use for deciding what goes and what stays, anyway? This is one moving, expressive piece, MechMorph. To me, it only suggests that Christ Himself felt wounded by the 9-11 attack, and of that I have no doubt. This image rates a solid "10" in my book anytime.

freedom of speech.
food for everyone.

Mmm... "The User is prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from this Site any threatening, libelous, defamatory, or any other material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under the law." This from the Terms of Service... Nothing in there about "inflammatory," even if this piece were inflammatory, which it isn't (especially compared to some of the images to which RealityCheck refers). And it certainly isn't libelous, threatening or defamatory. So on what authority has your freedom of speech been abridged? It's a fantastic image, and a complex bit of symbolism, too. Good work, and I'm glad you reposted, black banner and all.

I should have been more specific. It's the Bryce Forum Gallery at www.bmacleod.com/brycegallery.html, not the forum we have here. Sorry for any confusion. Thank you all for the support and taking time to look. (The original is here in the memorial gallery, or at my site http://www.geocities.com/tadcronn/contestpic29.htm.

If you want to make something persist ,censor it,ban it,and then make it illegal.

Maybe you should edit your text under the picture and clarify it up there for those that don't bother to read ALL the comments down below. I thought you were talking about here also and almost missed your clarifying comment.

Lue, you are DEAD wrong! The USA didnt make bin Laden, we gave him and others in Afghanistan the ways and means to defend themselves from Soviet occupation and this is how he repays us.

What is the big deal with this pic? Why was it banned? It doesn't make any sense. Personally I think it is an excellent pic. It captures the moment and the mood that is going on right now in this country. what happened to freedom of expression? Who is offended by this pic? If you are offended by it I have 1 ques for you? Why? Lue I have 1 ques for you. What the hell are you smoking! Good job mechmorph!

This picture is a good show of art, as well as showing caring and patriotism. I feel disgusted that some people feel nothing LESS than hatred for the scumbag terrorists that perpetrated that crime in the name of their bloody religion. That real-life events are considered too "inflammatory" and banned from these POS hippie "let's-hold-hands-and-ignore-the-worlds-troubles" type forums... it's ridiculous. I hate these psychos who censor "unhappy" things just because they feel it isn't "conducive" and whatnot. Sorry, it pisses me off. By the way, lue up there is probably on crack or something. The USA air-dropped food to the innocent Afghanis even while we're at war with them, we inspire peace, but carry a big stick for jerks. And apparently some stupid Afghani men think Allah likes purposeless war better.
