Pondered a while on what to post for him. Finally I thought of a bird shot because Danny has posted some fantastic birdies lately. Of course my bird shot cannot compare with his shots... mine is really humbled *sigh* Have taken this shot in the beginning March.
This bird is a European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) in its non-breeding plumage
Description:
Stocky, black bird.
Short, square-tipped tail.
Pointed, triangular wings.
Long pointed bill, yellow in breeding season.
Shimmering green and purple feathers in spring.
Size: 20-23 cm (8-9 in)
Wingspan: 31-40 cm (12-16 in)
Weight: 60-96 g (2.12-3.39 ounces)
