Description

this is the amphitheater of Red Mountian. When you first start on the trial it goes to the right; but my son and me walked in a straight line of the trial. I guess we saw things most people do not see. I know we saw this veiw which was much higher up than the trail is; for we had to slide down a lot of very lose small rocks.[could not walk on them just slide down standing up which was hard to do lol; the angle of the slope I guess was 30% to40%?] here is a fact link http://geopubs.wr.usgs.gov/fact-sheet/fs024-02/ I just been to the Grand Canyon which was awesome. Red Mountian in Coconino National Forest was just as awesome. It made me feel alive for I was standing where a volcano was blowing at one time in the past. This is well worth your time to see and if you have time check out the top for I email the Coconino National Forest and they say to me the main vent was on the other side of the amphitheater which I could get to by hikeing up the side like I was going into the site the first time in a straight line but had to go a little to the left[no trail to it as far as I know] You can camp there too. Just clean up your mess and leave it as you find it; please. When I was hikeing I thought of the wild animals here like bears or mountian lions you may check this out also when you email Coconino National Forest and carry a gun which I did not but my mind was just thinking lol. thank you all

you cannot see this from the road. this is where you can go a little to the left to clib it on the rim to get to the main vent. this is about where we had to side down to get to the trail to walk in the amphitheater
